Downtown
Toledo

Whether you want to spend your time eating, shopping or sightseeing, downtown Toledo offers unparalleled options for all three.
The center of Toledo packs everything from historic sights to professional sports into an inviting urban setting where it’s easy to drive without getting caught in traffic or fighting for a parking spot, and safe to walk to any of the countless sources of entertainment.

Only in downtown Toledo can you visit shops like Libbey Glass Factory Outlet or Architectural Artifacts to find hidden gems and unique gifts on one block, then catch a foul ball during a world-famous Mud Hens game on another. After that, you can enjoy fine dining and craft cocktails at some of the city’s hottest restaurants. There’s something for everyone on every block.
With renovations transforming the waterfront, this is the most exciting time in the history of downtown. People are flocking to the newly renovated Promenade Park to take in the contemporary art and music, browsing the numerous art galleries, taste testing at the many new coffee shops and locally owned restaurants, and walking the 1.5-mile riverfront greenspace at the Middlegrounds Metropark (that even has a dog park)! And that’s only the beginning of the adventure.
Central District
The Central District is the heart of Toledo’s downtown business community that dazzles visitors with historic buildings of architectural significance. Because of the renaissance our downtown is experiencing, many older buildings in disrepair are being given a second chance at life by investors. You will find coffee shops, restaurants and living spaces popping up throughout the area.
The Pythian Castle is a prime example of this ongoing renovation; when you reach the corners of Jefferson and Huron, look up and at the majestic Romanesque-style building with its towering Gothic turrets jutting 185 feet into the downtown skyline.
We welcome you to explore and admire the work taking place in our Central District.

Hensville
Located in Toledo’s downtown Warehouse District along St. Clair Street, Hensville features restaurants, shopping, live entertainment and family fun. Visitors can enjoy rooftop dining with spectacular views overlooking Fifth Third Field, home to the Toledo Mud Hens, triple-A affiliates to the Detroit Tigers.
Dining options at Hensville include Holy Toledo Tavern, offering diners a modern taste with a casual vibe. The eatery adjoins the Swamp Shop, offering Toledo Mud Hens baseball and Toledo Walleye hockey gear. Fleetwood’s Tap Room features 75 regional craft beers with 48 beers on draft, a variety of food and live music every Friday and Saturday.
Hensville Park, located at corners of Summit and Monroe Streets, hosts outdoor concerts, family and special events, and Toledo’s Downtown Outdoor Refreshment Area, (DORA) allows visitors to enjoy alcoholic beverages while strolling through Hensville. Come by and visit us soon!
Museum & Old West End
Our world-renowned Toledo Museum of Art is equally treasured by locals and visitors alike. The Museum, along with the award-winning Glass Pavilion – housing an extensive collection of glass art – are set on a 36-acre campus, overlooking the historic Old West End.
A match made in heaven considering the OWE is perhaps best known as one of the country’s largest standing collection of late Victorian homes. Spreading across 25 city blocks, you will find iconic architecture styles ranging from Colonial, Georgian, Italian Renaissance, Queen Ann and more all dotting our streets.
We invite you to experience our rich history and glorious architecture of the Museum & Old West End.

Riverfront
The Maumee River is the focal point that curves through and separates downtown into two distinct areas making up Toledo’s Downtown Riverfront. Each side shares an equally impressive set of attractions, restaurants, and businesses, many of which reflect our port way of life.
A stroll along the downtown waterfront will lead you by the Renaissance Toledo Downtown Hotel to Imagination Station, Toledo’s hands-on science center, past the renovated steam plant housing ProMedica’s headquarters, all in the forefront of a thriving downtown.
On the east side of the river stands International Park, a monument to Toledo’s global reach that features a diverse collection of eclectic dining options referred to as the Docks, with spectacular views of the downtown skyline. Head just north and you will come to the National Museum of the Great Lakes revealing the fascinating history of our treasured Great Lakes that offers tours of a retired freighter.
We welcome you to visit the Riverfront and enjoy our waterfront to the fullest.
Uptown
Welcome to UpTown, a vibrant urban neighborhood located between downtown Toledo and the Old West End neighborhood. UpTown is a booming, homegrown arts mecca teeming with new businesses, local restaurants, artists, shops and a thriving live music scene.
Stop and browse Handmade Toledo, the shop that focuses on local and regional independent designers, makers and artisans by creating an outlet for them to sell their wares in a place that has the same soft spot in their hearts for DIY as they do.
UpTown has the special recognition of having one of Ohio’s first outdoor refreshment areas. Residents and visitors alike can now socialize outdoors along Adams Street with alcoholic beverages from participating bars.
