Before Prohibition, illegal gambling flourished in Toledo, a wide-open city where criminals from other places could lay low until things cooled off.
With Prohibition, Toledo faced three years of terror when Yonnie Licavoli of Detroit’s Purple Gang strong armed his way into Toledo’s bootlegging and gambling scene.
In the two-hour Unholy Toledo bus tour, you will become familiar with the places and faces which made this chapter in Toledo history UNHOLY!
Tickets must be purchased in advance at www.toledohistorymuseum.org. Prices are $30 for THM members and $35 for non-members. Tours fill quickly so get your tickets today! Meet at Glass City Café at 11th and Jackson Streets at 10 a.m. Please arrive no later than 9:45 a.m. for check-in as the bus will leave promptly at 10 a.m. The bus will return to the Café at noon.
