Join the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Toledo as we unite for a common cause and raise funds at the 2018 Toledo Buddy Walk®. Whether you have Down syndrome, know someone who does, or just want to show your support, take the first step and donate or register today! Help us spread the word; all are welcome for our day of celebration!
We will be back at The University of Toledo's Health Education Center and Varsity Athletic Track, which allow us to be indoors AND outdoors (weather permitting, of course). Ceremonial walk begins around 1:15pm and we are planning a short route around campus, not far from the event location.
Individuals of all ages with Down syndrome get a FREE registration with a shirt! Any teams that secure event sponsors of $100 or above are able to count those amounts toward their team fundraising total
The Toledo Buddy Walk will run from 12pm to 4pm. Check-in/arrival for all attendees will take place from Noon until 1. All entertainment and activities (bounce houses/inflatables, face painting, and temporary tattoos, Family Resource Fair, carnival style games, outdoor games, DJ music, and dancing, free pizza from Little Caesars, entertainment and performances from community groups, etc.) will run starting at noon. The official Event Welcome will start at 1:15pm, with the ceremonial walk to immediately follow (will walk approximately 1 mile on campus, close to the event location). All above-mentioned activities will continue after the walk! And MUCH more surprises to come!
How can you get involved? It's easy:
-WALK...Sign up your team as a team captain, or join a team, to rally around your loved one or friend with Down syndrome. Register today.
*NOTE: Participants must register by Thursday, September 27 at 11:59pm to be guaranteed a commemorative event t-shirt (size preference included).
-VOLUNTEER...Join our event planning committee or sign up to donate your time the day of the event (we need TONS of help!) Sign up here.
