There are different ways to make pate de verre objects. Depending on the work and aesthetic you want to achieve and the size of the work, it is usually complex and takes a lot of time.

In this class we will learn a few non-traditional methods of working with pate de verre, including how to create forms without molds. We will explore the different approaches, possible results and understand better how to achieve our artistic and aesthetic goals.

MASTER CLASS IN GLASS

Beginning in May and continuing through August, these one-week master classes will offer instruction in a variety of glass techniques including glassblowing, flameworking, glass fusing, cutting and hot sculpting. Each teaching artist is internationally recognized and brings with them a set of highly specific and refined skill sets unique to each studio in the Glass Pavilion. The classes will run one week, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with lunch provided. Each week-long class will cost $950 for Museum members and $1,000 for non-members. Many of the classes are open to artists of all skill levels but some will require intermediate or advanced experience. Each class will be limited to four students and scholarships are available. Participants must be 18 years of age or older. As travel and gathering guidelines are subject to change in accordance with COVID 19 protocol, Master Class may be affected.
