Learn how to create botanical works on the torch using borosilicate glass. Students will learn basic techniques for sculpting leaves, flowers, vines, and other flora. Students will assemble multiple floral compents using glass support techniques, with a focus on strong welds and connections. 

TMA offers full and partial scholarships for glass studio master classes. Download the scholarship application form here. Completed scholarship applications for glass studio master classes must be received by April 1, 2022. Students applying for a scholarship cannot register for class in advance.

MASTER CLASS IN GLASS

Beginning in May and continuing through August, these one-week master classes will offer instruction in a variety of glass techniques including glassblowing, flameworking, glass fusing, cutting and hot sculpting. Each teaching artist is internationally recognized and brings with them a set of highly specific and refined skill sets unique to each studio in the Glass Pavilion. The classes will run one week, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with lunch provided. Each week-long class will cost $950 for Museum members and $1,000 for non-members. Many of the classes are open to artists of all skill levels but some will require intermediate or advanced experience. Each class will be limited to four students and scholarships are available. Participants must be 18 years of age or older. As travel and gathering guidelines are subject to change in accordance with COVID 19 protocol, Master Class may be affected.
