Gear up for a speedy summer! Examine a stock car, then explore the physics of racing as you design, build and race a wind-powered sail car.

Zoom, blast and whoosh into Imagination Station to explore the science of speed! Investigate how race cars and rockets, planes and people, boats and baseballs overcome the forces of friction and gravity to move so fast. Don’t miss your chance to build and test your own boats and rockets, construct a car, dismantle a Jeep and check your throwing speed.

Nerdy Derby
Friday – Sunday, June 21 – 23
This annual event challenges visitors to engineer a vehicle and a strategy that results in the fastest – or slowest – competitor to race down a 40-foot track.

Maximum Airspeed
Saturday – Sunday, July 6 – 7
Learn how lift, thrust, drag and weight affect flight as you send a rocket soaring, race a hoop glider and make paper airplanes with a commercial pilot.

One Giant Leap: 50th Anniversary of Lunar Landing
Saturday – Sunday, July 20 – 21
Celebrate the bravery and curiosity of our earliest lunar pioneers as you build and launch water rockets, learn how specialized tiles protect spacecraft and experiment with gravity.

Jeep Take-apart
Tuesday, August 6 – Sunday, August 18
Become a mechanic for a day as you help dismantle a Jeep! Investigate each component while learning how to use socket wrenches, screwdrivers and specialized tools to pull the vehicle apart piece-by-piece.
