Ice Skating at The Ribbon

The 2025 ice skating season is now underway and will be open daily through Sunday, March 2, 2025

The Ribbon is a 1,000 foot loop trail featuring rolling hills and soft curves for a uniquely Metroparks winter ice skating experience. The Ribbon is connected to a 5,000 square foot skating pond that offers a traditional ice rink experience for beginners and a series of special events and programs. 

Ice skating sessions are 90 minutes each, with schedules varying by day of the week. See below for detailed information on admission, rental rates, and schedules. For information about group outing options at Cabana Village and The Garden Winter Patio, visit HERE.

New for the 2024-2025 ice skating season at The Ribbon! Experience Bocce on Ice—where curling meets bocce ball! Reserve courts at The Pond area of The Ribbon at Glass City Metropark for a fun and unique winter outing perfect for groups of friends, families, or corporate events.

Court Schedule

During the first season of Bocce on Ice at The Ribbon, courts will be available to reserve on Sunday - Wednesday evenings in January and February from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.  If more dates/times are added, the schedule will be updated on this page.

Reservations can be made in 1.5 hour session rentals.

• Session #1: 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
• Session #2: 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. 

Court Rental 

• 1.5 Hour Session - $80 per court (2 courts available)
• Bocce on Ice at The Ribbon can accommodate groups of various sizes, though only 8 players can play at one time (8 players per court).
• Groups may have up to 16 people per court reservations - Only 8 players can be on the ice at one time, spectators can watch from viewing areas off the ice or from inside Market Hall.
• For larger groups we recommend booking both courts for multiple sessions.
• The Ribbon ice skating trail may still be accessible for ice skating while The Pond area is set up for ice bocce.
