Guests are invited to delve into the fascinating history of shipwrecks on the Great Lakes at the History Happy Hour: Shipwrecks of the Great Lakes, presented by Elaine Canning and Dan Kory. This exclusive after-hours event provides an opportunity to enjoy local craft brews, wine, and cocktails while uncovering the stories behind some of the Great Lakes’ most notorious and forgotten shipwrecks.
With over 8,000 shipwrecks across the Great Lakes, many tales remain submerged and shrouded in mystery. Attendees will be guided through gripping accounts of fear, heartbreak, and survival, from the enigmatic disappearance of Le Griffon, the first shipwreck on the upper lakes, to the tragic sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald, the last major shipwreck. This event offers a deeper understanding of how these underwater cultural sites have impacted the lakes and shaped national history.
Additionally, the event serves as a check-in on the 419 Ale Trail, adding extra excitement for craft beer enthusiasts who can earn bonus points and rewards.
