Beth Genson will demonstrate the techniques and applications to create Encaustic Art. Encaustic art is wax-based paints, composed of bees wax, resin and pigment, which are kept molten on a heated palette. They are applied to an absorbent surface and then reheated with a heat gun or torch to fuse the paint.
Beth is going to demonstrate how to incorporate things we find here at the gardens into art such as; pine cones, feathers, pebbles, etc.
Attendees are welcomed to arrive early and enjoy the gardens at no additional fee.
