ProMedica Announces 2021 Solheim Cup Opening Ceremony Celebration will feature two great acts over two days - Gwen Stefani and Chris Young!
This summer Toledo is proud to host the Solheim Cup, the world’s most prestigious women’s golf team event, where the top 12 US players take on the top 12 European players in a match-play competition. To kick off the celebration, ProMedica is proud to present the Opening Ceremonies Fan Fest. Gwen Stefani will close out the Opening Ceremonies with what is sure to be a concert to remember.
Gwen Stefani will headline the concert following the 2021 Solheim Opening Ceremonies on Friday, Sept. 3, 2021. She is a three-time GRAMMY® Award winner and has achieved global success as a performer, songwriter, frontwoman for an iconic rock band and multi-platinum solo artist. She also has four MTV Video Music Awards, two Billboard Awards, an American Music Award and a Brit Award, in addition to being a regular judge on NBC’s The Voice.
Tickets go on sale Friday, April 9, at 10 a.m. at Ticketmaster and www.promenadeconcerts.com. Parking passes will be available at checkout.
Day 1 – Solheim Cup Opening Ceremonies Celebration
Friday, September 3, 2021
Fan Fest will take over downtown Toledo and welcome visitors. Several streets will be blocked off with a variety of food and activities throughout the area. Large screens will be placed throughout the area, so you always feel part of the action. Four separate stages featuring local entertainment will be set up throughout the footprint.
All admission tickets include the following:
2:00 – Gates Open with local bands and activities in the general admission stages
5:00 – Opening Ceremonies will be livestreamed throughout the event footprint
6:00 – More local bands and activities in the general admission stages
8:30 – Main stage, Gwen Stefani performs and the show will be livestreamed throughout the event footprint
10:00 – Fireworks display
The Fan Fest event will include over 25 local restaurants with elevated festival menus and a large bar built over the fountain in Levis Square Park with items for purchase. The event will also include an Art Alley with live entertainment, TSA performances, Imagination Station animations, LPGA Girls Golf Foundation expo, and local live art expositions. More live entertainment will be in Levis Square Park.
Parking for the Solheim Opening Ceremony Celebration
We anticipate Downtown Toledo will be alive for the celebration and want to make sure you have a place to park for the event. Park and Ride lots will open at 1:00 p.m. Shuttles will begin running from the lot to the event at 1:30 and will run approximately every 15 mins throughout the day. The last shuttle to leave from the event site in Downtown Toledo to the lots at midnight.

This year’s events will be entirely cashless. The tickets will be digital and only credit/debit cards will be accepted at all food, beverage and retail locations.

Can I bring a chair?
Unfortunately, no outside chairs will be permitted in the event footprint area. There are several seating areas in the general admission/standing room only areas, including several picnic tables and high top tables that will be brought in for the event.
Are pets allowed?
No pets will be allowed with the exception of service animals assisting people with disabilities.
Day 2 – The Solheim Cup Celebration Continues

Chris Young will perform on Saturday, Sept. 4, 2021, the second night of the 2021 Solheim Celebration. He is a multi-platinum country singer and songwriter. In 2006, he was declared the Season 4 winner of the television program Nashville Star, a singing competition that aired on the USA Network. He recently surpassed the four billion streams mark for his catalog worldwide, which includes 11 No. 1 singles. His most recent hit is “Famous Friends.”
Clear Bag Policy
Attendees are encouraged not to bring any type of bags.
However, there will be a CLEAR BAG POLICY.
The less you bring, the easier it will be to pass the security checkpoint.
Guests are Permitted to Carry the Following:
Bags that are clear
Plastic, Vinyl, or PVC bags that do not exceed 12 inches x 6 inches x 12 inches One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar)
Small clutch bags
Approximately the size of a hand, with or without a handle or strap. Small clutch bags can be taken into the event with one of the clear plastic bag options.
An exception will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection at a gate designated for this purpose.
