Juneteenth (June 19) is a time to honor freedom, reflect on history, celebrate Black culture, and gather in community, and in Toledo, the celebration continues to grow each and every year. From immersive cultural experiences and live performances to comedy, art, music, and family-friendly activities, this year’s lineup offers meaningful ways to commemorate the holiday while supporting local artists, organizations, and Black-owned businesses.
7th Annual Toledo Juneteenth Celebration
Glass City Metropark | 3:30 pm – 9:00 pm
Experience a powerful celebration of culture, history, and community at the 7th Annual Toledo Juneteenth Celebration at Glass City Metropark. Centered around the theme “Past, Present, & Future,” this year’s event transforms the riverfront into an immersive journey through the Black experience, blending visual art, live performances, storytelling, and community connection into one unforgettable evening.
Guests will travel through three themed experiences:
- The Past: Ancestral Roots honors history through oral storytelling, traditional dance, and collaborations with representatives of the Myaamia and other Indigenous nations.
- The Present: Resilience & Freedom celebrates the vibrancy of today through performances by local artists, dancers, and community voices.
- The Future: Afrofuturism & Beyond invites attendees into a bold, imaginative landscape filled with neon-lit art installations and futuristic creative expression.
The free event also features large-scale visual art, food trucks, Black-owned vendors, family-friendly activities, and live music spanning traditional and contemporary styles. Set against the scenic riverfront, the celebration offers an opportunity to reflect on the past while looking ahead toward the future together.
Glass City Metropark | 5:30 pm
Celebrate freedom on the move during Toledo’s only Juneteenth run/walk. Hosted for the fourth year by the Toledo Roadrunners Club, this community-focused event includes a free kids 1K followed by a 2.5-mile run/walk through Glass City Metropark.



Juneteenth Celebration at the Wayman Palmer YMCA
Wayman Palmer YMCA | 12:00 pm – 6:00 pm
Celebrate Juneteenth with an afternoon of community, culture, and connection at the Wayman Palmer YMCA. Hosted by the NAACP Toledo Branch and the YMCA, this free family-friendly event brings together local organizations, resources, and activities that honor the significance of Juneteenth while creating opportunities for education, wellness, and celebration.
Guests of all ages can enjoy a variety of experiences throughout the day, including free haircuts and braiding, arts and crafts, spoken word performances, health screenings, and hands-on activities from Imagination Station. Food trucks will be on site serving local favorites, creating a welcoming atmosphere for families, friends, and neighbors to gather and celebrate together.
Juneteenth: Inspiring Change, Creating Beauty
Toledo Museum of Art | 11:00 pm – 5:00 pm
The Toledo Museum of Art invites the community to celebrate Juneteenth with a full day of free performances, interactive art experiences, and family-friendly programming centered around the theme “Inspiring Change, Creating Beauty.”
The event includes:
- Live musical performances featuring works by African American composers
- Hands-on art activities for all ages
- A family art-making experience in the Family Center
- A community artist showcase and meet-and-greet opportunities
- A sensory-friendly area designed for relaxation and accessibility
- Food trucks serving local favorites throughout the day
Toledo Spirits Company | 7:00 pm – 11:30 pm
Celebrate Juneteenth with an evening of comedy, culture, and unforgettable laughs at Toledo Spirits Company. Headlined by Toledo’s own Jay Mike, these two special showcases feature an all-Black lineup of comedians from Toledo and Detroit bringing sharp storytelling, fresh material, and nonstop energy to the stage. Known for his viral comedy skits and commanding stage presence, Jay Mike has built a strong following both online and in live performance.
Guests can enjoy handcrafted cocktails and a lively atmosphere during both the early and late-night shows, making it a perfect way to cap off the evening.
Motown Night at Party in the Park
Promenade Park | 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Celebrate the sounds of Motown during a special Juneteenth edition of Party in the Park at Promenade Park. This free downtown concert event features performances by Hollywood Connection, Motown Sounds, and special guest emcee Tracy the Rarebreed. Guests can enjoy classic hits, food trucks, local vendors, and a lively summer atmosphere along the riverfront.
