From beginners to experienced climbers, Adventus Climbing Center creates space for anyone to climb. We are a family-friendly, full-service indoor rock-climbing gym with the goal of building healthy people, healthy families, and healthy communities.

The 12,000 square foot climbing center features bouldering, top rope, auto-belays, and lead climbing, in addition to a fitness area, retail and a party room available for groups. The outdoor space has bicycle parking and will have a fire pit and a slackline.

We are located just minutes away from Interstate 475/23 and adjacent to the Toledo Metroparks University/Parks Trail.

AJ Archery's indoor range is the place where beginners get started the right way, competent archers become experts and competitive archers learn how to win. There are few sports that can match the safety, fun and excitement of archery, and probably none that a family can enjoy more throughout their entire lives. At AJ Archery, kids from 3 to 103 can learn and practice archery in all its many forms.

We are a full-service marina located on Lake Erie. Our marina is operated as a “Boat-A-Minium” where members own docks as their own property. We have approximately 500 docks, some docks can be leased from the Marina on a seasonal basis or purchased for permanent ownership.
The marina is on Cooley Canal, which is a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers designated Harbor of Refuge. The canal and marina have direct deep water access to Lake Erie. Anchor Pointe offers a complete line of marine services, including transient slips, a full-service gas dock, pump-out, marine repairs and service, haul-out, inside and outside cold and heated storage, Wi-Fi, pool, a restaurant/bar, dog run, secure access, and plenty of dockside parking. We are a BoatUS cooperating marina. Transients are welcome.

The ARCA Series has raced at Toledo Speedway since 1963. Toledo Speedway has long been known for being one of the best short tracks in the country with its ½ mile semi banked oval and ¼ mile figure eight in the middle. ARCA sanctioned stock car racing on Friday nights, May through September. Great family fun!

Bend View Park offers an unequaled view of a 90-degree bend in the Maumee River. The park entrance is on the Anthony Wayne Trail, but it is also accessible by hiking 2.2 miles from Farnsworth or about six miles from Providence on the Towpath Trail. The effort is worth the walk for what is often described as the best view along the Maumee, and one of the most scenic spots in all of Lucas County.

The Towpath Trail, which is part of the Buckeye Trail (marked with blue blazes), is an 8-mile trail that connects Providence, Bend View and
Farnsworth Metroparks and follows the remains of the Miami and Erie Canal along the old towpath where mules once towed flat-bottom boats along the waterway.

Camping at Bend View: The brand new Otsego Road Enclosed Platforms, Liberty and Freedom, are conveniently located just off of the Towpath Trail at Bend View Metropark. With elevated scenic views of the beautiful Maumee River, these new platforms offer up a unique camping experience. Combined with a hike or a paddling excursion on the Maumee River Water Trail makes for a memorable adventure. Reservations are open to the public April 11 by calling 419-407-9700. Available: May 1 through October 31, conditions permitting.

The Black Swamp Bird Observatory (BSBO) Office, Visitor Center and Gift Shop is located at the entrance of Magee Marsh Wildlife Area.

The mission of the BSBO is to inspire the appreciation, enjoyment, and conservation of birds and their habitats through research, education, and outreach.

BSBO also organizes and hosts the Biggest Week In American Birding: a 10-day birding festival timed to coincide with the peak of spring songbird migration in early May. The festival also markets the area to birders around the world.

Blue Creek is a quiet country retreat where visitors can walk a looped trail through a wetland and around a quarry pond, fish, kayak, sled or have a family gathering. On Providence Road, behind the Whitehouse village offices, the former Nona France quarry offers kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding and fishing from shore or small boats. Kayaks can be rented using a smartphone app. In winter, head for the hill. Blue Creek has the largest sledding hill in the park system.

Step back in time at the Canal Experience and get a taste of life on the Miami and Erie Canal in 1876. Providence Metropark is located in what was once the canal town of Providence, Ohio. Today, the Metropark has one of the greatest concentrations of canal era features in the country, including: The Volunteer, a reproduction of a mule-drawn canal boat, The Isaac Ludwig Mill, a working water-powered saw and gristmill, more than a mile of the original Miami and Erie Canal and towpath, Lock #44, one of the last functioning 19th century limestone locks, scenic Providence Dam, constructed across the Maumee River to maintain water levels in the canal and characters in period attire welcoming visitors to a time gone by.

For people, a bicycle, kayak or tent is the best way to truly experience Cannonball Prarie Metropark beside the region's longest trail, the Wabash Cannonball Trail.The park has planted prairies, a pond for boating, three campsites secluded in the woods, walking paths and a connection to the Wabash Cannonball Trail, which runs through the park.

Fishing in the Future
Cannonball Prairie Pond is stocked and aerated (using solar power) to build a fishery that will one day be a destination. For now, fishing is on hold to give the population time to get established.

Lounge in our swimming pool or frolic and fish in our lake, or rent bikes, too. Not enough? The kids will go crazy for our free wagon rides and movies. We even have a train! Don't forget the mini-golf course or the volleyball courts, and horseshoes.

If you're a tent camper, we've got you covered with a rustic tenting area. We provide certified clean restrooms with FREE hot showers. For those wanting less of the outdoors, we rent trailers for your camping convenience. Bringing your own RV? We've got full hook-ups with 20/30/50 amp electrical service. Laundry facilities are available and you can get firewood delivered on site. Even your leashed pets will love it here!

Cullen Park is at the westernmost point of Lake Erie in Toledo on the shores of Point Place, a beautiful waterfront neighborhood located minutes north of downtown Toledo. You will find a floating dock built six feet above water that is connected to a steel walking ramp with handrails for easy access by water enthusiasts. 

Enjoy outdoor adventures like fishing, boating (including power crafts), canoeing, kayaking and paddle sports. Birding enthusiasts can partake in first-class bird watching anytime at Cullen Park but notably during the spring and fall migration each year.

Farnsworth Park has always been about the water. Water-based recreation has been a focus of the park since its inception. Amenities and features at the park include indoor and picnic facilities, fishing, kayaking and canoeing, camping and historical WPA buildings and bridges.

Fifth Third Field is an 8,943 seat minor league stadium and home to the world-class Triple-A minor league baseball team, The Toledo Mud Hens, affiliate of the Detroit Tigers. The stadium was named one of the best minor league ballparks in America by Newsweek and ESPN.com has rated The Roost section of Fifth Third Field as one of the best seats in minor league baseball to watch a game. The Suite Level and concourse floor host special events open to the public, like our Winter Brewfest and more.  So slip on your Mud Hens Jersey and join in with the crowd chanting "Let's go Hens!"

Hensville comes alive on Mud Hens game days. Have dinner and do some shopping before first pitch. Stick around late for drinks and dancing.

Howard Marsh is a birding hotspot, particularly known for waterfowl and shorebirds. Over 230 species – more than half the known species ever recorded in Ohio – have been documented on birding websites, and include Howard Marsh has six miles of water trail for canoeing and kayaking, and five miles of dike-top trails for hiking and bicycling. Trumpeter swans, a variety of ducks, osprey and an array of songbirds are typical sights, with occasional visits from sandhill cranes, bald eagles and pelicans. The quarter-mile Madewell Trail extends into a marsh, and two overlooks provide access for fishing and viewing birds. For the paddler, there are two roll-off docks, kayaks available to rent by the hour using smartphone app (Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day) and portages between marsh unit.

The Huntington Center Arena is home to the Toledo Walleye Hockey Club providing world-class family sports entertainment along with concerts and other events in a premier setting. 

A 1.3-mile trail with nearly 1,500 feet of concrete "boardwalk" and scenic overlooks offers access into the marsh, where visitors can enjoy an ever-changing array of birds. Manhattan Marsh is home to frogs, toads and turtles, but is best known for birds.
The park also has a basketball court and picnic tables.

The Maumee Bay Conference Center features 7,504 square feet of function space within eight function rooms, each of which features breathtaking views of Lake Erie or scenic parklands. The 5,031-square-foot Grand Ballroom accommodates up to 400 guests, illuminated by natural lighting. The adjacent balcony with wonderful Lake Erie vistas is equally alluring for meeting breaks and celebrations.

Outdoors, the 2,000-capacity Amphitheatre can be transformed for concerts and special events. We also can cater clambakes and barbecues in our outdoor dining venues. Maumee Bay is a picture-perfect setting for romantic weddings, whether a ceremony overlooking sparkling lake waters, or an elegant ballroom reception.

Maumee Bay State Park offers 1,336 acres of not only the finest of recreational facilities in the Midwest, but also a unique natural environment created by the convergence of the land and Lake Erie. The lodge, cottages and golf course are nestled among the scenic meadows, wet woods and lush marshes teeming with wildlife. The balance of recreational facilities with the natural world gives visitors a diverse experience in a coastal environment.

Designed by Arthur Hills in 1991, Maumee Bay Golf Course rests on 1,850 acres of protected wetlands inside Maumee Bay State Park, along Ohio’s beautiful north coast. Adorned with its tall fescue, the 18 hole par-72 links course challenges golfers of all skill levels. Maumee Bay is a favorite among locals and has received acclaim from national golf publications for being one of the country’s best golf values. The Scottish-links layout is wide open and our 14th hole, with its twisting pars and water hazards, is our challenging signature hole.

The Toledo Metroparks consist of fourteen parks around the Greater Toledo area each connecting the outdoors to people in new and exciting ways. Biking, hiking, canoeing, or camping? There’s a metropark for that - and no better place to get outside and play. 

Currently the parks combined contain approximately one-third of the rare plant life in Ohio which makes this a great place for photography buffs. The Toledo Metroparks are open daily from 7am to dark year-round and are free of charge.

This 28-acre park and green space offers a 1.5-mile walk/bike path, tranquil views of the Maumee River, a kayak cove with access to the river for those who bring their own boats, and a hub for the Veo Bike Share.

 

Located between Whitehouse and Swanton, Oak Openings Preserve is the area’s largest Metropark at around 5,000 acres. Featuring more than 70 miles of trail in the preserve, including a network of horse trails that attract riders from around the state, a dedicated cross-country ski trail and a popular singletrack (mountain bike trail).

Oak Openings is a birder's paradise. It is the nesting place of bluebirds, indigo buntings, whippoorwills, Lark sparrows and many other species, as well as an excellent location to see migrating songbirds in the spring.

 

One of the last remaining places to experience the Great Black Swamp. From birding to baseball and picnicking, there’s something for everyone at Pearson Park. Activities and attractions include baseball diamonds, soccer fields, tennis courts, fishing, a playground, ice skating and sledding.

Whether you are a visitor looking to explore our local waterways via kayak or paddleboard, or a life-long resident looking to diversify your sedentary lifestyle with a kayaking day trip, we deliver kayak & paddle board rentals throughout the area. With single, fishing, and tandem kayaks… we have an option for just about everyone. Rentals are a minimum of two hours and include boat, paddle, and personal flotation device. You bring the outdoor essentials; your friends, co-workers or family; and any food/drinks you’d like.

A kayaking trip is great for an active Girls Day Out, family adventure, or team building event. It’s also a wonderful and peaceful way to see area wildlife. Special sunrise and sunset events are posted on social media and are breathtaking!

A natural symphony of tall trees, rolling sands, wet lowlands, meadows and prairies make up Secor Metropark. Park amenities include walking & biking trails, large picnic areas, playing fields, a dedicated cross-country ski trail and a Window on Wildlife feeding station.

Side Cut is a refuge for fishermen from around the country as walleye swim upriver to spawn. The "spring run" is the largest of its kind on the Great Lakes. A former extension of the Miami and Erie Canals. Three of the six original locks from the canal system were preserved by WPA workers during the Depression.

Infused with tradition and history, Side Cut is one of a series of riverfront parks. The flat rocks that extend into the river between Maumee and Waterville are known as the Maumee River Ledges, a rare form of a little-known habitat called an alvar, found in only a handful of places on the Great Lakes.

Activities and attractions within Side Cut include river and canal access, a sledding hill, playground, indoor and picnic shelters, and wildlife feeding stations with indoor viewing areas, called Windows on Wildlife.

Eight outdoor sand volleyball courts that are lighted and located at International Park on the banks of the Maumee River.

The Nature Conservancy’s Kitty Todd Preserve protects more than 1,400 acres of the biologically rich Oak Openings Region. Visitors to the preserve will discover low-lying wetlands and windblown sand dunes that are populated by prairie, oak savanna, woodland and forest. The site boasts one of the highest concentrations of rare species of any nature preserve in the state. Notable species of interest include the lark sparrow, Karner blue butterfly and wild lupine. An easy 3-mile-long loop trail with interpretive signage guides visitors through several different habitats types that are unique to northwest Ohio.

The Toledo Mud Hens are a minor league baseball team that plays its games at Fifth Third Field in Toledo, Ohio. The Mud Hens officially came into existence in 1896, but professional baseball existed in Toledo since 1883. The team adopted Mud Hens as its name in 1896, because the team played its games at Bay View Park. A nearby swamp was home to a large number of mud hens.

The Toledo Mud Hens are a farm team for the Detroit Tigers.

The University of Toledo offers a variety of event space options. Savage Arena, a multipurpose complex, can serve the needs of intercollegiate athletics but can also host concerts, theater presentations, convocations and graduation exercises. From conference rooms to leisure spaces, the University's Residence Halls are well equipped with meeting facilities. The University of Toledo Student Union is the ideal place for meetings, seminars, banquets, retirement parties, wedding receptions or whatever else you have in mind.

The six-mile University/Parks Trail stretches from University of Toledo campus to King Road in Sylvania Township. It offers a lush greenway through woodland, passing meadows and wetlands. The level, paved path is suitable for runners, cyclists and in-line skaters, and can easily accommodate wheelchairs.

The trail has several neighborhood access points: a trail connecting to the Wildwood Preserve Metropark trail system, and designated roadway connections to Ottawa Park, Olander Park and Franklin Park Mall.

Once you’ve experienced the adventure park for yourself, you will see what we mean when we say we’re more than just a trampoline park. Young or old, tall or short, athlete or armchair quarterback – our attractions will help you defy gravity. Test your skills in the Warrior Obstacle Course, Go Karts, Sky Rider, Rope Course, Climbing Walls and the list goes on. Need to refuel? Head over to the Urban Air Cafe for a refreshing drink, soda or sports drink.

The Wabash Cannonball Trail is one of Ohio’s longest multi-use recreational trail in Northwest Ohio covering a total of 66 miles and traversing four counties: Fulton, Henry, Lucas, and Williams.  It provides non-motorized access to hikers, bikers, equestrians*, and cross-country skiers. The 12 foot wide trail surface varies within the different jurisdictions, from asphalt to hard packed cinder ballast. *Some jurisdictions may restrict horse traffic.

The Trail is actually comprised of two rail lines that converge in Maumee at Jerome Road. The “North Fork” of the Trail runs in an east-west direction, 48 miles from Maumee to Montpelier, Ohio within 13 miles of the Indiana state line. The “South Fork” takes a southwesterly route from Maumee to the restored historical railroad depot in Liberty Center, Ohio for a length of 18 miles. The average width of the Trail corridor is 100 feet, with the width of the Trail surface being 10-12 feet. If you traverse the length of the Trail, you will cross over 13 bridges. The longest of these is the Tiffin River Bridge, at 210 feet in length. The Beaver Creek Bridge is the highest, at 38 feet above water level. The Fraker Mill Bridge south of Delta, Ohio is an authentic timber-framed covered bridge that spans Bad Creek. The Trail is surfaced with crushed aggregate in the rural areas and asphalt through the more populated areas. The entire Trail is paved in Lucas County. Mountain and hybrid/cross bikes will have no problem traveling on all open sections of the Trail.

 

Bring your own archery equipment during normal operating hours to the archery range and 3D archery course.  You may attend special training programs offered through Metroparks, generally by reservation. See the Outdoor Skills programs listed at www.MetroparksPrograms.com for upcoming programs.

You can now rent archery equipment to shoot the static range or the 3D course at Westwinds. Each participant will need to show proficiency, safety and range etiquette before entering the 3D range.

 

Natural beauty and man-made elegance come together as one at Wildwood Preserve, the most visited of the Metroparks. The 493-acre park is the former estate of Toledo’s Stranahan family. The main attraction at Wildwood is the system of trails
that traverse varied terrain (a treat in the flatlands of northwest Ohio). The park is bisected by the Ottawa River and has sandy soil indicative of the rare Oak Openings Region.The prairie community at Wildwood is home to many diverse and fascinating plants and animals. In the spring, it is a breeding site for ground-nesting birds such as rufous-sided towhees, field sparrows and American woodcock. Summer brings a spectacular display of prairie wildflowers and grasses, such as rough blazing star, big blue stem and Indian grasses, some reaching 10 feet high.

Activities at Wiregrass Lake include the boat dock with canoe and kayak launch, three primitive camping sites near the lakeshore and a pleasant trail that winds around the scenic lake. The lake is open for canoeing and kayaking, as well as fishing from the shore or the dock. An accessible launch with rollers is available to assist paddlers entering or returning from the lake.
