Sk8 to Elimin8 Cancer w/ Scott Hamilton
Sk8 to Elimin8 Cancer with Scott Hamilton returns to Toledo on Friday, January 23, 2026, bringing together community members for an inspiring evening of skating, remembrance, and hope at The Ribbon at Glass City Metropark. Participants can choose between two skating sessions, 4:30–6:30 PM or 7:00–9:00 PM, and skate 20 laps to honor and remember loved ones impacted by cancer.
The event takes place on The Ribbon, Glass City Metropark’s signature skating trail along the Maumee River. Skate rental is included with registration, making the event accessible to skaters of all experience levels.
Sk8 to Elimin8 Cancer is led by Scott Hamilton, Olympic gold medalist, World Champion figure skater, and cancer survivor. Hamilton won the 1984 Olympic gold medal in men’s figure skating and has remained a prominent figure in the sport and philanthropic world ever since. Following his own cancer journey, he founded the Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation, dedicating his platform to advancing cancer research and survivorship.
The Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation (Cancer Alliance for Research, Education, and Survivorship) is a national nonprofit organization focused on funding innovative cancer research that treats the disease while sparing patients from harsh side effects. Through partnerships with leading research institutions, cancer support organizations, and medical professionals, CARES works to improve outcomes and quality of life for those living with cancer.
Sk8 to Elimin8 Cancer at The Ribbon offers a meaningful way to combine movement, community, and purpose, creating a powerful winter experience that supports life-changing research while celebrating strength, resilience, and hope.
