The City of Perrysburg and the City of Maumee will host the traditional Independence Day fireworks on Thursday, July 3 (rain date is July 5). Fireworks will begin at 10:00 p.m. and will last approximately 20-25 minutes.
The fireworks will be set off in a new location this year. American Fireworks will set them off in the green space on the west side of the Fort Meigs Memorial Bridge off Rapids Road, which is higher elevation than the previous location at Orleans Park.
Parking will not be permitted off Rapids Road, and spectators will not be allowed to sit on the bridge due to it being in the safety zone. Orleans Park will be back open for spectators this year. Other viewing locations include Fort Meigs Historic Site and Riverside Park on the Perrysburg side as well as along the Towpath Trail on the Maumee side.
