From Book to Movie | Nancy Drew and the Hidden Staircase

The Toledo Lucas County Public Library invites the community to a special film screening and book discussion celebrating Toledo author Mildred Wirt Benson, who wrote as Carolyn Keene, the original author of Nancy Drew.

As part of Ohio Goes to the Movies, guests will enjoy a movie screening with popcorn, followed by a bonus book discussion.

After the film, Jennifer Fisher, president and founder of the Nancy Drew Sleuths, will compare the original The Hidden Staircase to its revised editions and the modern film version. She will also share her experience attending the Hollywood premiere and offer insight into the history behind the original book, written by Mildred Wirt Benson. Attendees are encouraged to read the revised 20 chapter edition of The Hidden Staircase before the program.

Movie Summary:

This event is sponsored by the Ohioana Library and Ohio Goes to the Movies as part of a statewide film festival celebrating America 250.
