Toledo Mud Hens Rock N' Blast Celebration

There’s nothing more American than rock n roll, baseball, and fireworks! The Toledo Mud Hens first-ever Rock N Blast Celebration is Monday, July 1 through Wednesday, July 3 with a Jamie Farr jersey on July 1 and Old Glory specialty jerseys on July 2 and 3.

 

Thursday, July 4

Independence Day 1813
Fort Meigs: Ohio's War of 1812 Battlefield | 9:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Join Fort Meigs as they recreate Independence Day 1813 with weapons demos, historic music presentations, and civilian activities.

Picnic Lunch Cruise on the Sandpiper
Downtown Toledo Riverfront, 1 Jefferson Ave | 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.n. | Tickets Required
Enjoy an extended lunch break on a 2-hour tour of the Maumee River, come see what downtown Toledo has to offer.

Parking Info: The Sandpiper is docked near the corner of Water Street and Jefferson Avenue in Downtown Toledo. Street and lot parking is available nearby.

Red, White & Brew
Maumee Bay Brewing Co., Growler Park (Ottawa & Broadway St.) | 27 Broadway Street | 7 - 11 p.m.
Celebrate the 4th of July at Maumee Bay Brewing Company's Red, White & Brew event! MBBC is hosting a fireworks watch party for the downtown Toledo fireworks show! Join them in Growler Park (lawn area located on Ottawa & Broadway) for perfect viewing of the fireworks.

Fireworks in the 419
Downtown Toledo | 10 p.m. | Free to the public
Italian Bowl will be going out with a BOOM! Don’t miss the City of Toledo’s largest firework display to celebrate American Independence Day Weekend. Find a viewing spot in downtown Toledo along the riverfront and enjoy Fireworks in the 419. There will be food trucks along Summit street 

Parking Info: There are several parking garages near the riverfront in the heart of downtown on the west side of the river where you can pay to park. Street parking will be scarce, but free. Park and walk to Promenade Park and spread out along the riverfront for the best view. People can also view the fireworks from Hensville park, and across the river at Glass City Metropark there is ample parking and space to spread out and enjoy the display. Bring a blanket and chairs for extra comfort!

Public Transport: The Toledo Area Regional Transit Authority (TARTA) will have special park and ride service to downtown for those looking to avoid parking for the fireworks display. Take a $3 shuttle from Franklin Park Mall directly downtown (Jackson & Huron streets). Buses leave Franklin Park Mall’s Royer Road stop at 8 and 9 p.m., and will return from Jackson and Huron 20 minutes after the end of the fireworks show.

Friday, July 5

Friday Night Family Cruise

Bring the family for a 2-hour cruise on the mighty Maumee! Enjoy the enchanting dusk views of downtown Toledo, view area wildlife, as well as the stately homes along the way. Bring a picnic or order pizza. All food and drinks including alcoholic beverages are welcome and a small cooler to keep items cold. BYOB.

Friday Night Booze Cruise on the Glass City Pearl
Downtown Toledo Riverfront, 1 Jefferson Ave | 8 - 10 p.m.
Enjoy a relaxing Friday evening cruise on The Glass City Pearl for cruise on The Maumee River after a long work week! Bring your favorite bottle of wine, beer or spirits.

Saturday, July 6

Toledo Farmers Market

Downtown Toledo, 525 Market St. | 8 a.m. - 1 p.m. | Free Admission
The Downtown Toledo Farmers' Market is every weekend offering local goods from area farmers, gardeners and artisans!

Parking Info: There is a parking lot between the market and the Libbey Glass Factory outlet. If this area is full, there is a lot off of Erie Street or street parking in the surrounding area. Street parking is free in Toledo on Saturdays.

Ship & Shore | The Ultimate Great Lakes History Day
National Museum of the Great Lakes | 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
