It’s a place to discover the city’s creative energy, connect with its people, and explore spaces designed to inspire curiosity.
A Front-Row Seat to Toledo’s Cultural Scene
Throughout the year, the Toledo Library hosts major events that draw audiences from across northwest Ohio and beyond. Live music performances transform library spaces into intimate concert venues. Author talks bring bestselling and emerging writers to Toledo for conversations that feel personal and engaging. Literary conventions like Romance-Con turn the Main Library into a lively gathering place for readers, writers, and fans from across the region.
These programs position the Toledo Library as an essential part of Toledo’s cultural calendar, one where visitors can experience the city’s arts and literary scene alongside the people who call it home.
A Place to Connect, Learn, and Belong
Community connection happens every day at the Toledo Library, not just during large events. Nearly 30 book clubs meet each month across the Library’s branches, online, and out in the community, covering genres from contemporary fiction and mystery to romance, horror, comics, and more. In addition, free public programs for children, teens, and adults invite people of all ages to learn, explore, and connect.
For visitors, joining a program or attending a discussion offers a unique way to engage with local culture. For residents, it’s one of many reasons the Toledo Library remains a welcoming hub for lifelong learning and shared experiences.

Signature Collections You Can Discover Across the City
Art and literary history are woven throughout the Toledo Lucas County Public Library.
Visitors may encounter familiar characters, striking visuals, or new favorites while exploring different branches. These works are part of the Robert L. and Posey Huebner Collection, which contains more than 240 original works of art from beloved children’s books. It is one of the largest collections of original art from children’s books housed in a public library, with the collection rotating between Main Library and 12 branch locations.
Main Library is also home to one of its most distinctive attractions: the largest public collection of Nancy Drew books and memorabilia in the United States. The Jennifer Fisher Nancy Drew Collection is a nationally significant special collection that celebrates the enduring legacy of the iconic young detective and offers a nostalgic, one-of-a-kind experience for mystery lovers, literature fans, and pop culture enthusiasts alike.
Together, these collections transform the Toledo Library into a place of discovery—part gallery, part archive—inviting visitors to explore Toledo through stories, art, and literary history as they move across the city.
