Established in 2017, The concept for the Bait House Brewery arose from the property's long-standing use as a bait and tackle shop. Fondly remembered by many Sandusky fisherman as Herb's Bait Shop, it served the community for almost seventy-five years. Now in loving tribute Herb's stands Sandusky's first microbrewery, Bait House Brewery. Our Brewery draws on Sandusky's long-time connection not only with the fishing industry, but maritime life generally. Completely handmade, each style of our beer will delight those going out for a day of fishing, and fine craft beer lovers alike.

In 2021, we officially unveiled a restaurant atop our brew pub, which enhances the overall experience of coming to the brewery. The brewery specializes in a "vacation-like" experience, making customers feel like they've made it to a vacation destination. Our brewed in-house beers, craft cocktails, delicious homemade food and dog friendly atmosphere make for an overall local destination.
