DESCRIPTION:See and learn about live animals\, play nature-related games and make crafts with regional nature organizations during the Hayes Presidential Library & Museums annual GroveFest on Saturday\, June 27. \nGroveFest celebrates nature and wildlife and takes place on the grounds of Spiegel Grove\, an accredited arboretum and the estate of 19th U.S. President Rutherford and First Lady Lucy Hayes. \nThe event is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.\, and attendees can stop by any time throughout the event to join in the festivities. Admission is free. \nNature organizations will offer make-and-take crafts\, games and activities. Nature’s Nursery of Whitehouse\, Back to the Wild Wildlife Rehabilitation Center will have live education animals\, and Shooting Star Farms will have a petting farm. \nOther participating organizations will be announced at rbhayes.org. \nHot dogs and ice cream will be available. Donations for food are accepted but are not required. \nVisitor parking is off-site only with the exception of those who have handicapped tags for their car. Parking will be available on the street and in ProMedica Memorial Hospital’s parking lots at Buildings A and B\, located at 605 Third Ave. Spiegel Grove is a short walk to the east of the hospital parking lots. A golf cart will be available to shuttle people from the front to the back of Spiegel Grove.

DESCRIPTION:On July 4\, 2025\, America turns 250\, and the site of America’s first presidential library is the perfect place to celebrate. Enjoy a day of nostalgic fun\, an old-fashioned picnic and a patriotic concert by a band featuring members of the Toledo Symphony at the Hayes Presidential Library & Museums. \nBring a picnic or purchase food on-site at Spiegel Grove\, the 25-acre wooded estate of 19th U.S. President Rutherford and First Lady Lucy Hayes. From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.\, enjoy games from days past\, kids’ activities\, curator talks about American history and speakers giving historic speeches. \nThe event will culminate with the annual Independence Day Concert\, performed by the Toledo Concert Band from 2 to 3:30 p.m. on the verandah of the Historic Hayes Home. The concert band features members of the Toledo Symphony Orchestra. Bring a chair or blanket for seating on the spacious Hayes Home lawn. Admission to the picnic\, games\, talks and concert is free. The concert is sponsored by Crown Battery Mfg. Co. and Hal & Diane Hawk. \nThe museum will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.\, and paid tours of the historic Hayes Home will be offered throughout the day.
