SUMMARY:Beethoven's 4th & Olga Kern Returns - Toledo Symphony
DESCRIPTION:Olga Kern returns to the Toledo Symphony\, bringing her exceptional artistry to Shostakovich’s Piano Concertos No. 1 and No. 2\, with the First also featuring a solo trumpet part performed by Toledo Symphony principal trumpet Zachary Thomas. Known for her powerful presence and expressive depth\, Olga’s past performances with the orchestra have left a lasting impression. Beethoven’s Fourth Symphony\, while often overshadowed by its two closest symphonic siblings\, reflects his evolving style\, moving away from the stormy emotional intensity of his “Eroica” and laying the groundwork for the grandeur of his iconic Fifth. \nJocelyn Morlock: Interloper\nLudwig van Beethoven: Symphony No.4\nDmitri Shostakovich: Piano Concerto No. 1\nDouglas Schmidt: DSCH\nDmitri Shostakovich: Piano Concerto No. 2
