SUMMARY:Authors! with Robert Edsel
DESCRIPTION:What happens when you lose your freedom and the people who eventually get it back for you are no longer alive to thank? \nThe Toledo Lucas County Public Library welcomes author of Remember Us\, Robert Edsel\,  the No. 1 New York Times bestselling author of The Monuments Men\, opens in the pre-dawn hours of May 10\, 1940 when Hitler’s forces rolled into the small rural province of Limburg in the Netherlands\, shattering more than 100 years of peace. Their freedom gone\, the Dutch lived through four-and-a-half years of occupation until September 1944\, when American forces reached Limburg\, the last portion of Western Europe liberated by the Allies before their advance on Nazi Germany slammed to a halt. \nTickets for Authors! events are on sale now and can only be purchased at eventbrite.com. For assistance\, please call 419.259.5200. Each ticket purchase includes a signed copy of the author’s featured book\, while supplies last. \nAuthors! is presented by the Library Legacy Foundation with additional support from supporting sponsor Buehrer Group and community sponsor Friends of the Library.

SUMMARY:Tales of the Maya Skies

We also typically discuss one “hot topic” in astronomy\, such as the discovery of new planets around other stars\, or the latest NASA discover on Mars.\n\n\nThe full-dome presentation\nWhether we are traveling inside a black hole\, taking a tour of the moon with Elmo\, or learning about the skies over Toledo\, you and your family will simply be amazed at the full-dome immersive show.\nAn open-ended question and answer session\nOur expert host will answer all of your astronomy questions\, whether they pertain to the live tour of the night sky\, the feature presentation\, or any other astronomy question that you might have.\nObserving at Brooks/Ritter Observatory\nYou will be escorted over to Brooks Observatory atop McMaster Hall to view the stars and/or planets through their new 14 telescope.
