SUMMARY:Oktoberfest 2025
DESCRIPTION:People often ask – “If it’s called Oktoberfest why is it in September?” Every year the largest Oktoberfest is held in Munich\, Germany – and it begins in mid-September and runs until the beginning of October. The very first Oktoberfest was held in 1810 on October 12th\, but over the years the celebration has expanded to begin earlier in the year for warmer weather and additional daylight hours. \nEmbrace this long tradition and celebrate the 2025 Oktoberfest celebration on September 27th. This fall festival is well known for bringing the time-honored traditions of Germany to Toledo\, with relaxed fun at Oak Shade Grove – 3624 Seaman Road\, Oregon. \nKicking the event off is a new Opening Ceremony – including a parade of German and European cars\, and featuring the princesses of the seven societies of the German-American Festival Society. No Oktoberfest would be complete without beer – and back by popular demand for 2025 is the hosted authentic German beer tasting experience. \nGermans love their sports and this year friendly competitions have been added– from Schleuderball throwing\, to Masskrugstemmen beer stein holding\, and our returning Cultural competition. \nNew performances this year include the Toledo Swiss männerchor – dammenchor (men’s and women’s choir)\, joining the returning kinder (children’s) group of the d’Holzhackerbuam Schuhplattlers. Of course\, the Deutsche Volkstanz Group will feature multiple times throughout the day! \nFull Schedule of Events : \n2:00 PM – Festival Opens with Free Admission and Free Parking – Car Show Opens \n2:30 PM – Bavarian Sports Club (BSC) D’Holzhackerbuam Schuhplattlers Kinder (“children”) dance \n3:00 PM – Opening Ceremonies \n3:30 PM – Deutsche Volkstanz Group Opening Dance \n4:00 PM – Toledo Swiss Singers \n4:30 PM – Schluederball Throwing Competition \n5:00 PM – Deutsche Volkstanz Group Dance \n5:30 PM – Car Show Awards Ceremony \n5:30 PM – Deutschmeister Band – dorfkappelle – a “village band” with a modern flair \n6:30 PM – Deutsche Volkstanz Group Dance \n7:00 PM – Deutschmeister Band \n7:30 PM – Masskrugstemmen Beer Stein Holding Competition \n8:00 PM – Deutsche Volkstanz Group Dance \n9:00 PM – Deutschmeister Band \n10:00 PM – Closing \nOktoberfest 2025
