SUMMARY:Cursed! The Power of Magic in the Ancient World
DESCRIPTION:From love charms to curse tablets\, uncover the spellbinding ways ancient cultures tried to bend the world to their will. \nFor millennia\, people across Mesopotamia\, Egypt\, Greece\, and Rome turned to magic for protection\, for healing\, to curse their enemies\, and to seek favor from powers beyond the human realm. Ancient magic was woven into daily life and ritual practice—sometimes accepted and sometimes feared. Cursed! invites visitors to step into an exciting world of spells\, amulets\, and protective figures dating from 2000 BCE to 300 CE. \nThis exhibition brings exceptional works in a variety of materials to Toledo\, including intricately carved ivory wands\, brilliant gems\, rare magical papyri\, and lead curse tablets from the Louvre\, the British Museum\, the Metropolitan Museum of Art\, and other institutions. These objects reveal a shared human desire: to influence the unseen forces shaping life and death. \nGet your tickets now \nTicket Ranges:\nUnless otherwise noted\, ticket categories are defined as follows: \n• Ages 0–4: Free\, no ticket required\n• Ages 5–17: Child ticket\n• Ages 18 and up: Adult ticket \nThese age ranges apply to events and exhibition tickets only.

SUMMARY:Moments in Latitude at 20 North Gallery
DESCRIPTION:Experience a journey through memory and landscape at Moments in Latitude\, a two-person exhibition running April 17 at 20 North Gallery. \nFeaturing artists Leslie Dietsch and Jerry Gray\, this immersive exhibition pairs traditional oil painting with innovative\, physically manipulated photography. Together\, their works explore how landscapes—both real and remembered—shape our sense of place and time. \nDietsch’s paintings draw inspiration from the Great Lakes region\, capturing serene rural and maritime scenes with a sense of intimacy and nostalgia. In contrast\, Gray’s monoprint photography transforms moments from travel and exploration into layered\, tactile works that examine the fluid nature of memory. The result is a dynamic and transportive installation that invites close viewing and reflection. \n🖼 Exhibition Details:• Exhibition Dates: April 17 – June 21\, 2026• Location: 20 North Gallery\, Toledo• Gallery Hours: Wednesday–Saturday\, Noon–4 PM (or by appointment) \nWhether you’re an art enthusiast or simply looking for a thoughtful cultural experience\, Moments in Latitude offers a compelling exploration of landscape\, memory\, and artistic process—on view through June 21.
