SUMMARY:Live at the Library with Half Gringa
DESCRIPTION:Toledo Lucas County Public Library welcomes all to our concert series\, Live at the Library\, a series featuring musical talent as they tour the country. Half Gringa is the indie music project of Chicago singer-songwriter Isabel Olive\, blending indie rock with Latin American and Midwestern folk influences. The name\, inspired by a childhood nickname\, reflects her bicultural roots. \nHer 2017 debut\, Gruñona\, earned spots on Chicago Magazine’s “10 Best Chicago Albums of 2017” and Chicago Reader’s “Best Chicago Albums of the Decade.” Her sophomore album\, Force to Reckon\, explores love\, loss\, and self-discovery with lush arrangements and poetic lyricism. Songs like “Afraid of Horses” and “Transitive Property” mix introspection with humor. Known for her powerful performances\, Half Gringa delivers an unforgettable live show. Don’t miss her at Main Library!\n\n\nLive at the Library\, the Toledo Lucas County Public Library’s free monthly concert series\, welcomes five singer-songwriters from the Midwest and Canada this spring and summer. The lineup features Lucy Kaplansky\, Half Gringa\, Joshua Davis\, Julian Taylor\, and Miss Emily. Live at the Library invites performing artists to take center stage in the Main Library Atrium as they tour the country. The concerts are free and open to the public\, with refreshments available for purchase or donation to SAME Café. \nAdvance registration is encouraged but not required to attend Live at the Library performances. Visit toledolibrary.org/music to register. \nLive at the Library is presented in partnership with SAME Café\, a donation-based\, fair exchange nonprofit restaurant that serves healthy food to everyone\, regardless of ability to pay.
