PARK(ing) Day
What if a downtown parking space could become a place to gather, play and connect? PARK(ing) Day 2026 brings this global public-space initiative to Downtown Toledo on September 19, transforming temporary curbside parking spaces into creative public spaces designed for community, connection and fun.
PARK(ing) Day is a worldwide participatory project that invites people to temporarily repurpose parking spaces as public parks and social spaces. In Toledo, the Toledo Design Collective is using the event to explore new possibilities for downtown streets and parking spaces, creating opportunities for people of all ages to gather and experience the city in a different way.
The 2026 celebration begins with a Kickoff Party on Friday, September 18, at 27 N. Huron St., followed by PARK(ing) Day activities throughout downtown Toledo on Saturday from 12pm-6pm. Exact locations and times for Saturday’s installations and activities will be announced as the event approaches.
